Technology in Action - Success!

The first Eye Connect - Technology in Action was a huge success! We had more than 100 participants and most appeared to be engaged and enthusiastic about the possibilities. As I said at the workshop, this is the first event we have tried using the scenario driven format. As a participant, your feedback is vital to the development of future events of this type. Information collected from this survey will help us provide more responsive and useful Technology in Action workshops in the future.

The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, (AIDB) Mobile Regional Center in Mobile, Alabama is conducting a first of its kind technology awareness activity. “Eye Connect - Technology in Action,” is an interactive, hands-on workshop for people with nonstandard eyesight, family members, community agencies, and the community at large.


All demonstrations and hands-on interactions will be centered around real world, scenario driven activities. Come and see how people with vision loss, or those with combined vision and hearing loss can use the latest digital and innovative technologies to adapt and effectively perform everyday tasks at home, at work, and in school.
